You have made an excellent site! It is also very informative, especially for those planning to go to East Africa (EA) like me. I'm deciding to go to there in OCT 01.
By the way, I would like to ask you some questions.
What camera (brand), lens has you bought to EA? Did you use the tele lens for the photos taken in safari? What lens did you bring to the Mt. Kilimanjaro?

Thanks Daniel. Most of my wildlife photos were taken by a Canon EOS 50e with a 100-400 IS lens. I brought only a 28-70 lens at the Kilimanjaro summit night because I knew that it would be a very tough night, and this was true. I'd cropped some of the photos before putting on the site -
another kind of digital zoom.
I've visited your web site. The photos are good and I particularly enjoy those you took in Nepal. From your equipment list, I think that you already have the minimal equipment set for a safari trip. Though, as a prefessional/enthusiastic photographer (from your equipment list!), you'll likely wonder why I don't have a large aperture 400/500/600/... or a 80-400 VR lens on the field :-)
I think that an IS (or VR in Nikon terminology) lens is very useful and convenient for a safari trip. You may consider bringing your 28-200 if you plan to climb Kilimanjaro.
Will you go to Kenya or Tanzania? I'll be interested to see your photos from EA.
