I would like to know if end Oct is a good season to travel to East Africa. Will there still have alot of animals to see ? I have checked w/the travel agencies, some advised it is not a good season, but some said it is good because Oct/Nov will be the animals back (遷徙), and some said it is good travel all year round except the Feb & March (rainy seasons) ?? Anyone can let me know ? THANKS !

Hello!

So excited to hear so many HK people will go Kenya on Sep. Maybe I can see many of you in there. My husband and I will departure at 12/9. We have already book a local tour via internet. The company is call Breakaway Expedition. However no HK people know them. I only confirmed that they are lisensed and teh lisense will expire at end of Oct. I know we may have some risk to join them. But they offer is really good.

I join a 10 days safari for $1170 (4 days in tent with bed, 1 night at ARk and others in lodge). Then I will stay 1 night at Nairobi (Sixeighty Hotel $65/night for B&B) After that I will go Mombasa for 2 days.

The fright from HK to Nairobi is very tight at Sept. The one to departure at 12/9 and return at 25/9 is the only I can confirm.

Hi! Smallbee,
I have my injection last week, the doctor give me so much advice and expain clearly the condition. Since I'm not join HK tours the doctor advise me to have the injection for Yellow fever (highly recommend), Hepatitis A, Typhoid and medical for Malaria (highly recommend). The Yellow Fever need to inject before 10 day of departure. The doctor also advise the 蚊怕水's DEET contain should be in a range ( I forget the figure, I will check it for you). You can also call them to get some advice. The webmaster had already post their website in there.

I would like to thanks the webmaster and Wilson so much. They give me a lot of advice during I plan my trip. Hope can share my experience when I come back.

小弟和女朋友二人會在今個月10號出發去東非旅行，是跟金X旅行團去肯亞8天！想請問當地的天氣如何？那種衣著會比較合適呢？另聽聞有好多蚊蟲，如使用現時在一般藥房買到的蚊怕水，可有效防止蚊蟲嗎？有沒有好提議？但我們還未決定去注射預防針，其實當地現時的黃熱病情況如何！照我所知，當地的食水衛生不是太好，我們應不會用來飲用，到時只飲礦泉水，但如用來刷牙漱口可以嗎？當地的治安如何？還有什麼需要多加注意的呢？另外聽說可以帶定一些如原子筆或一些實用物品去，可以和當地人交換手信，不知實情如何呢？不好意思！問題實在太多，請不要介意！十萬個Thanks！

一般蚊怕水已可以了，另最好穿長袖衫褲。刷牙漱口應不怕，最多之後再含一口礦泉水漱口。奈羅比的治安較差，不宜獨自外出。

其實跟團很多事應有人會提醒你，不用太擔心，安心享受大自然吧。

Anyone planning to Kenya on September from HK.
I would like to join HK tour HongThai and Wingon but noone yet enrolment and I dont; feel comfortable going with my wife alone. Preferably with other HKese travel together. My prefer departure date is 15, 17 Sep ( Wing On and HingThai have tour)
After seeing this site, I feel urge that I deteremine to go to Africa, been worry about the safety.

謝謝，不過不要把我當成是動物專家啊。

我沒留意非洲象揮動耳朵是否代表著高興還是不高興，但我想是高興吧，因為牠們緊張時是會站定察看形勢。我反而知道有時牠們揮動耳朵是為了幫助散熱。

我想如果牠們把鼻子抬得高高又咆哮著是代表憤怒，但牠們的舉動可能較我們想像中複雜，例如兩頭大象抬起鼻子互相挨擦又可以是親熱的舉動。
