sorry to reply you late. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more detail. I actually contacted some tour operators in Moshi and Arusha and made price comparison. Chat later.

I left a note on your south american

Sorry, I don't check your site often
and missed your reply by large.
These are good guides, one guy from
Canada paid $60 tip at the end, we
collected over $100 for a small group
of three, covered partially as two other
people from Malaysia didn't leave a
single tip at the end, the porters
and guides were outrageous. They are
very humble, nice people, also considerate.
I did hear lot of complaints that some
guides ask for more and more tips and
end up with conflict with the tourists.
I guess it's not the case with our

East Africa is very attractive to me. This website is very helpful and urge me to visit there.
I'd like to go at the beginning of Jan. Is now a good season to visit there?
Thinking of joining tour but the cost per day is nearly USD200!
What kind of medicine are you recommended to bring along? What sort of vaccine we needed to take?

When is Tanzania's best season is hard to tell. Travel in dry season is easier but the animals may have moved to Kenya. So perhaps the best bet is go to Kenya around July to Oct.
Safari is never a cheap deal, but you can go as low as about USD80 per day if you arrange everything after you have arrived. USD200 if stay in comfortable hotels.
Yellow fever vaccine is compulsary for Tanzania (but some said it is for Zanzibar only) but not for Keya. Anyway, it is about your personal health, so consider take it no matter regulations require or not. Malaria drug and Hepatitus A vaccine are also recommended.

They requested 20% deposite rather than 5%. Therefore, I want obtain more quotations from different agents before making decision. Thank you.

i came back from the climb (Machame Route) and it was terrific. On top of every day trekking, the last 15 mins walk from the glacier to the roof (the wood sign) was the most dreadful thing to me becos' i was totally exhausted. I did contact your guide but his email is invalid. I got response from the tour operator but later on i chose another one recommended by other travelers in TT of LP. The passport control officer said we no need yellow fever certificate if not going to Zanzibar. Besides, holding the SAR passort can have visa-free right now. This saved me US$50 that i planned to pay after reading your journal. Anyway, thank you for your information in your website.
Happy travel !!

I came to Egypt by myself and currently in Cairo. I hope my answers are of help.
I went to Bahariyya for 2 days/2 nights staying in white desert, plus one day on the road. Bahariyya town is uncomfortably dusty. You may be shocked by the scene you see. I did not go to Siwa since it is too far and for me it has the same view as Bahariyya has.Sorry i cannot give you any suggestions. Normally you can arrange the tour through local tours at the cost of US$175 for one night hotel-stay and one night desert-stay. There are millions of tour agents on the town. You better off shop around and bargain down.(I paid highest prices for pretty bad services through the Hostel I stayed, and no way I can get some refund through complanits).
Unfortunately, most of road signs are arabic, only main midan(square)/streets are written in English. Actually many streets are with no signs. I use LP's map which gives a detail.
I took Upper Egypy Coach to Bahariyya at 8:00 AM from Cairo and 3:00PM from B back to Cairo. it is safer that you check the schedule and buy it beforehand. Or you can ask the hotel staff where you stay to get it done for you, with some tips.
